Health Benefits

We all know that drinking water is good for us. Approximately 60-70% of our body is made up of water. Ensuring that we drink enough water on a daily basis makes a huge impact to our body's ability to function effectively.

But did you know that there are different types of water? And did you know that these types of water can benefit your health in different ways?

When we think of water, we think of two main sources: the taps in our homes and bottled water that we can buy in the shops. But did you know that there are two types of bottled water: Spring Water and Mineral Water?

Spring Water is collected directly from its source at the spring where is rises from the ground. Regulations state that Spring Water must be bottled at source becuase Spring Water from the UK sources must meet strict water hygiene standards and can be further treated so that they meet pollution regulations. However, this means that during the treating process, they can lose a lot of their natural minerals and nutrients.

Mineral Water emerges from underground springs and then filters naturally through the rock strata before it is collected. This results in higher mineral content, varying from spring to spring, giving each source a unique blend of minerals. But, unlike Spring Water, Mineral Water can only be treated to remove grit and dirt. The result is that the Mineral Water keeps its unique blend of minerals.

Our Wenlock Spring Bottled Water is Mineral Water. And as a result of it's journey through the Wenlock Edge, it has a unique blend of minerals and nutrients and is rich in both calcium and selenium, giving it a refreshing and delicately sweet taste.
